In a dramatic stretch run, Klaravich Stables’ Dynamic Pricing (IRE) unleashed a powerful late surge to overtake the leaders and capture the $500,000 Just a Game Stakes (G1) at Saratoga on a yielding inner turf course.
Under a patient ride by Dylan Davis, the Chad Brown-trained filly settled near the back of the pack as Kehoe Beach set a determined pace, carving out fractions of 24.25 for the quarter-mile and 48.82 for the half.
Kehoe Beach maintained her lead through the far turn, but the race began to change as the field closed in.
Coaxed from the gate, Davis saved ground with Dynamic Pricing for much of the one-mile journey before tipping out. Angling wide into the stretch, Davis swung Dynamic Pricing five-wide for a clear run.
The bay filly responded gamely, rallying down the center of the course to challenge the front-runners inside the final furlong.
She seized command at the sixteenth pole and inched away to secure the victory by three-quarters of a length, finishing in a final time of 1:38.77.
The victory was another Grade 1 for the powerhouse combination of owner Seth Klarman’s Klaravich Stables and trainer Chad Brown, who also saddled runner-up Excellent Truth (IRE) and sixth-place finisher Segesta.
Excellent Truth (IRE), under Flavien Prat, rallied six-wide in the stretch to offer a mild kick and secure the place honors. Special Wan (IRE) and jockey Joel Rosario tracked the pace from the inside and held on for third after a game pursuit. Pacesetter Kehoe Beach faded late to finish fourth.
Bred in Ireland by Epona Bloodstock Ltd, Dynamic Pricing is a 4-year-old filly by Night of Thunder (IRE). The win marked a significant Grade 1 score for the talented filly.
