Clock Tower, under a confident ride by Junior Alvarado, went straight to the lead and never looked back, securing a convincing victory in the $150,000 Paradise Creek Stakes on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
The Wesley Ward-trained gelding carved out the fractions and held off all challengers to win the six-furlong outer turf sprint for three-year-olds.
From the start, Clock Tower was alert and quickly established the lead, with Jet Sweep Joe pressing the pace to his outside. The pair dueled through an opening quarter-mile in 22.52 seconds and a half-mile in 45.66 seconds over the good turf course.
As they turned for home, Alvarado asked Clock Tower for his best, and the Not This Time gelding responded, edging clear of Jet Sweep Joe.
While Clock Tower maintained his advantage, Flat to Da Mat, who had chased along the inside, found a seam and put in a late bid under Dylan Davis to secure second place, though never seriously threatening the winner. Insubordination (IRE) also closed mildly to grab third.
Clock Tower crossed the wire 1 1/2 lengths in front, stopping the clock in a final time of 1:09.49. The victory marked a second stakes win for the Mrs. Fitriani Hay-owned three-year-old.
Trainer Wesley Ward expressed his excitement post-race, calling Clock Tower “a really nice, honest, and ultimately sound horse.”
Jockey Junior Alvarado, riding Clock Tower for the first time, noted he was surprised to find himself on the lead but let the horse find his rhythm.
